Our Trip to Washington, D.C.
Shorly after we
arrived on the
Capitol steps a plane
flew into restricted
airspace and we had
to evacuate the area
in a hurried manor.
Chuck was a hero
when he helped a
large, sweaty woman
over a retaining wall
during the
evacuation. This
ended our attempt to
enter the Capitol
Building.
The weather was perfect with the
Cherry Blossoms in full bloom!
Of course, we had to do the old
cliche' of a photograph of us
holding the Washington
Monument.
And, again...
And, again...
And, again.
Behind Rachel is the mall with the
Smithsonian then the Washington
Monument then the Lincoln
Memorial. A big walk and a lot to
see ahead.
Here we are now on
the other side of the
monument--opposite
of the photo above.
A nice photo of Chuck in front of the
Monument on the steps of the
Lincoln Memorial. Too bad his
eyes were closed in the photo.

WWII Monument
--Paige; proud of
our adopted
state's pillar.
Ethan appears
worried that
Daddy is carrying
a Man Purse.
Honest Abe.
The White House. Home to the most
powerful man (or woman) in the world.
Barrack Obama had been President
for only a few months at this point.
Typical tourists!!!
